| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Everyday, thousands of people in Illinois depend |
| 3 |
| on the Illinois Toll Highway for reliable transportation; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Tolls should be kept as low as possible in order |
| 5 |
| to not burden the Illinois Toll Highway users; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Tollway Authority should look for any |
| 7 |
| additional revenue sources for the continued operations of the |
| 8 |
| Illinois Toll Highway without raising tolls on users; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Toll Highway Authority is currently |
| 10 |
| planning to replace all of its toll plaza signs by the end of |
| 11 |
| the year; therefore, be it
|
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 14 |
| urge the Illinois Toll Highway Authority to immediately begin a |
| 15 |
| study to determine the feasibility of renting out toll plaza |
| 16 |
| sign space to advertisers to offset the cost of the tollways; |
| 17 |
| and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 |
| presented to the director of the Illinois Toll Highway |
