Requires the State Board of Education to adopt rules for the elimination of vegetable oils containing trans fats in foods served in public school cafeterias beginning on July 1, 2010 and for the elimination of all foods containing trans fats from public schools beginning on July 1, 2011. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>

Reinserts the introduced bill with the following changes. Requires the State Board of Education to adopt rules for the elimination of vegetable oils containing trans fats in foods served in public school cafeterias beginning on July 1, 2015 (instead of 2010) and for the elimination of all foods containing trans fats from public schools beginning on July 1, 2016 (instead of 2011). Provides that the State Board of Education shall adopt rules to require schools to provide healthy menu options. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
