Provides that taxes may be levied to provide "human services" (now, "social services for senior citizens"). Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Provides that a tax may be levied to provide either (i) social services for senior citizens or (ii) human services, but not both. Provides that a county that has imposed a tax for the purpose of providing social services for senior citizens may not impose a tax for human services. Provides that, prior to the submission of the question of the imposition of a human services tax, the county board shall adopt, by ordinance or resolution, a human services plan providing the specific uses for which the tax revenue may be used. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
