| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Dr. Bruno Anton Desulis of Yorkville, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on June 15, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Bruno Anton Desulis was born on September 8, 1913 |
| 6 |
| in Chicago, the son of Anton and Antonette (Gudwich) Desulis; |
| 7 |
| he met his wife, Elspith Anderson, at the Marlboro Presbyterian |
| 8 |
| Church in Chicago; following his graduation in 1937 from the |
| 9 |
| University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, they were |
| 10 |
| united in marriage on October 1, 1938 in Chicago; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He interned at Augustana Hospital in Chicago, and |
| 12 |
| during his career delivered over 1,000 babies; he and his wife |
| 13 |
| moved to Beardstown in 1940, where he began his private |
| 14 |
| practice as a general practitioner and surgeon; he served as |
| 15 |
| the Chief of the Medical Staff at Schmidt Memorial Hospital in |
| 16 |
| Beardstown; he belonged to the Board of Directors of the |
| 17 |
| Beardstown Savings and Loan, and was a member of the Elks and |
| 18 |
| other service and civic organizations; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Navy and |
| 20 |
| served during World War II as a Lieutenant J.G.; throughout his |
| 21 |
| life, Dr. Desulis continued his education; he was a member of |
| 22 |
| the American Medical Association; he enjoyed playing bridge, |
