| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Jack J. Thompson of North Chicago, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on July 13, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Jack J. Thompson served with pride and distinction |
| 6 |
| as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War |
| 7 |
| II; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Jack J. Thompson was employed as a machine shop |
| 9 |
| supervisor for Johnson Outboards, retiring after 37 years of |
| 10 |
| service; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Jack J. Thompson served his community as a member |
| 12 |
| of the police department, the volunteer fire department, the |
| 13 |
| District #64 School Board, and the North Chicago City Council, |
| 14 |
| where he served as alderman of the 5th Ward; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Jack J. Thompson was preceded in death by his |
| 16 |
| loving wife, Lois; his father, Glenn Thompson; his mother, Mary |
| 17 |
| (Marie) O'Brien; and his brother, Russell; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Jack J. Thompson is survived by his children, |
| 19 |
| Jacqueline (Dick) Zimmerman, Kenneth (Diana) Thompson, Karen |
| 20 |
| (Dexter) Miller, and Jeffrey Thompson; and his seven |
