SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Linda Sroka of Niles, who passed away on 
4
October 10, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Linda Sroka was born in Chicago on September 15, 
6
1952; she grew up in Niles and graduated from Maine South High 
7
School; on August 12, 1972 she married Robert Sroka; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Linda Sroka worked in a pediatrician's office, and 
9
part-time for the Niles Police Department as a community 
10
service officer; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Linda Sroka was a recent addition to the Niles 
12
Public Library Board, serving as a trustee; she was active in 
13
the Maine Township Democrats, the Democratic Women's Club of 
14
Des Plaines, and the Northern Illinois Democratic Women's Club; 
15
and

 
16
    WHEREAS, She is remembered as a staple of Senior Citizens 
17
Bingo at White Eagle Banquets, where she helped run the program 
18
beside her husband; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Linda Sroka is survived by her husband, Robert; 
20
her grandchildren, Cale Edens and Shea Lynn Edens; her sister,

Lorie (Craig) Williams; her niece, Jennifer Williams; and her

mother-in-law, Janina Sroka; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
her family and friends, the passing of Linda Sroka; and be it 
6
further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Linda Sroka as a symbol of our 
9
sympathy.
