| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Granville "Mac" Warfield of Granite City, |
| 4 |
| who passed away on August 20, 2007; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Granville Warfield was born on July 17, 1931, in |
| 6 |
| Granite City; his parents were William W. and Estella, nee |
| 7 |
| Schnettou, Warfield; he married Betty, nee Nash, Warfield on |
| 8 |
| October 7, 1952, in Granite City; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Granville Warfield was a long time retired |
| 10 |
| employee of Granite City Steel; he had served as a former |
| 11 |
| superintendent of streets, as well as a Madison County Board |
| 12 |
| member and a city councilman in Granite City; he was an active |
| 13 |
| Democrat all his life, serving as vice chairman of the State |
| 14 |
| Democratic Party and as chairman of the Democratic Party of |
| 15 |
| Madison County; he was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and |
| 16 |
| was affiliated with numerous civic organizations; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Granville Warfield was preceded in death by his |
| 18 |
| parents, William W. and Estella; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Granville Warfield is survived by his wife, Betty; |
| 20 |
| his brothers, William Warfield and Danny Warfield; his sisters, |
| 21 |
| Irene Warfield and Jean Ramstack; his special family friend, |
