| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Tommy K. Martin of Tuscola, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on July 17, 2007; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Tommy K. Martin was born on December 12, 1947 in |
| 6 |
| Tuscola; he was the son of Clestes O. and Mary Edna Loyd |
| 7 |
| Martin; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Tommy K. Martin graduated from Tuscola Community |
| 9 |
| High School in 1966; he proudly served his country as a member |
| 10 |
| of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War; he started with the |
| 11 |
| Illinois State Police in 1978, working as a Crime Scene |
| 12 |
| Investigator and CSI Field Supervisor; his duties included |
| 13 |
| Training Coordinator and Quality Assurance Manager for the |
| 14 |
| entire crime scene services command until his retirement in |
| 15 |
| 2002; he was an Instructor at the Criminal Justice Institute in |
| 16 |
| Little Rock, Arkansas; he began serving as Chief Deputy Sheriff |
| 17 |
| of Douglas County in 2004; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Tommy K. Martin was a member of the Tuscola |
| 19 |
| Warrior VFW Post #1009, Tuscola American Legion Post #27, |
| 20 |
| Watkins Glen, NY American Legion Post #555, Watkins Glen, NY |
| 21 |
| Elks Lodge # 1546, Tuscola Moose Lodge # 729, and the Tuscola |
| 22 |
| Masonic Lodge #331, AF & AM; he was also a member and deacon of |
