| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 841 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |

| 2-3.142 as follows:

| (105 ILCS 5/2-3.142 new) |

| Sec. 2-3.142. AP exam fee waiver program. The State Board |
| 8 |
| of Education shall create a program in public schools where at |
| 9 |
| least 40% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches |
| 10 |
| whereby fees charged by the College Board for Advanced |
| 11 |
| Placement exams are waived by the school, but paid for by the |
| 12 |
| State, for those students who do not qualify for a fee waiver |
| 13 |
| provided by federal funds or the College Board.".
