| 17 | education at any
campus under its governance or supervision to | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | the children of (1) employees
of
an Illinois college or | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | university who have been employed
by any one or by more than | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | one Illinois college or university for an aggregate
period of | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 21 | at least 7
years

| 13 | generally to its
respective
undergraduate colleges and | ||||||
| 14 | programs.

| 15 | (c) Subject to the provisions and limitations of subsection
| ||||||
| 16 | (b), an
eligible applicant who has continued to maintain | ||||||
| 17 | satisfactory academic
progress toward graduation may have his | ||||||
| 18 | or her partial tuition waiver
renewed until the time as he or | ||||||
| 19 | she has expended 4 years of undergraduate
partial tuition | ||||||
| 20 | waiver benefits under this Section.
| ||||||
| 21 | (d) No partial tuition waiver offered or allocated to any
| ||||||
| 22 | eligible
applicant in accordance with the provisions of this | ||||||
| 23 | Section shall be
charged against any tuition waiver limitation | ||||||
| 24 | established by the Illinois
Board of Higher Education.
| ||||||
| 25 | (e) The Board of Trustees shall prescribe rules and | ||||||
| 26 | regulations
as
are necessary to implement and administer the | ||||||

| 17 | (a) As used in this Section, "Illinois college or | ||||||

of the following: the University of | ||||||
| 19 | Illinois, Southern Illinois University,
Chicago State | ||||||
| 20 | University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State
| ||||||
| 21 | University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois | ||||||
| 22 | University,
Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois | ||||||
| 23 | University.
| ||||||
| 24 | (b) Each year the Board of Northern Illinois
University | ||||||

| 1 | shall offer 50% tuition waivers for undergraduate education at | ||||||
| 2 | any
campus under its governance to the children of (1)
| ||||||
| 3 | employees of
an Illinois college or university who have been | ||||||
| 4 | employed
by any one or by more than one Illinois college or | ||||||
| 5 | university for an aggregate
period of at least 7
years
or (2) | ||||||
| 6 | persons receiving a retirement or disability retirement | ||||||
| 7 | annuity
under the Illinois Pension Code based on at least 20 | ||||||
| 8 | years of service with
one or more than one Illinois college or | ||||||
| 9 | university, including persons who
already are receiving such an | ||||||
| 10 | annuity on the effective date of this
amendatory Act of the | ||||||
| 11 | 95th General Assembly, if the child is the biological offspring | ||||||
| 12 | or an adopted child or step-child of the person prior to his or | ||||||
| 13 | her retirement. To be eligible to receive a
partial tuition | ||||||
| 14 | waiver, the child of an
employee of an Illinois college or | ||||||
| 15 | university (i) must
be under the age of 25 at the
commencement | ||||||
| 16 | of the academic year during which the partial tuition waiver
is | ||||||
| 17 | to be effective, and (ii) must qualify for admission to | ||||||
| 18 | Northern
Illinois University
under the same admissions | ||||||
| 19 | requirements, standards and policies which Northern
Illinois | ||||||
| 20 | University applies to applicants for admission generally to
its | ||||||
| 21 | respective
undergraduate colleges and programs.
| ||||||
| 22 | (c) Subject to the provisions and limitations of subsection
| ||||||
| 23 | (b), an
eligible applicant who has continued to maintain | ||||||
| 24 | satisfactory academic
progress toward graduation may have his | ||||||
| 25 | or her partial tuition waiver
renewed until the time as he or | ||||||
| 26 | she has expended 4 years of undergraduate
partial tuition | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | waiver benefits under this Section.
| ||||||
| 2 | (d) No partial tuition waiver offered or allocated to any
| ||||||
| 3 | eligible
applicant in accordance with the provisions of this | ||||||
| 4 | Section shall be
charged against any tuition waiver limitation | ||||||
| 5 | established by the Illinois
Board of Higher Education.
| ||||||
| 6 | (e) The Board shall prescribe rules and regulations as
are | ||||||
| 7 | necessary to implement and administer the provisions of this | ||||||
| 8 | Section.
