| AN ACT concerning government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The State Designations Act is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 57 as follows:
|

| (5 ILCS 460/57 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 57. State fruit. The fruit Malus xdomestica, commonly |
| 8 |
| known as the "GoldRush Apple", is designated the official State |
| 9 |
| fruit of the State of Illinois.

| 10 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 11 |
| becoming law.
