HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff, alumni, 
4
and students of Ancona Montessori School in Hyde Park on the 
5
45th anniversary of the institution; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The school began in the 1962-1963 school year; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The school is an innovative learning community, 
8
with outstanding teachers offering a hands-on curriculum for 
9
their students; the school motto is "Every Child is A Star"; 
10
and

 
11
    WHEREAS, The school offers exceptional academic programs, 
12
unique museum partnerships, innovative teaching initiatives, 
13
and national recognition as an effective non-profit  school from 
14
the Brookings Institute; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Chicago Magazine named Ancona Montessori School 
16
as one of the 25 best elementary schools in the Chicago 
17
metropolitan area in 2006; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, On May 17, 2008, the school will celebrate the 
19
power and joy of learning at Ancona's 45th Anniversary Gala and 
20
Auction at the Chicago Illuminating Company; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate everyone involved with Ancona Montessori School 
4
on this occasion and wish them the best for the future; and be 
5
it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the administration of Ancona Montessori School as 
8
a symbol of our respect and esteem.
