| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy |
| 3 |
| Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle |
| 4 |
| Scout; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Gregory A. Scafidi, II, of Boy Scout Troop 409, in |
| 6 |
| Itasca, earned his Eagle Scout recognition on November 29, |
| 7 |
| 2007; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man |
| 9 |
| must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a |
| 10 |
| willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in |
| 11 |
| camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Greg supervised the construction, with the help of |
| 13 |
| numerous other scouts and friends, of a split rail fence which |
| 14 |
| outlines and beautifies the northern and western borders of the |
| 15 |
| Spring Brook Nature Center; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Greg has accumulated a total of 28 merit badges |
| 17 |
| and has attended several Boy Scout camps in Wisconsin; he is a |
| 18 |
| member of the Order of the Arrow; he received the Parvuli Dei |
| 19 |
| Religious Award, Conservation Award, and recently completed |
| 20 |
| enough merit badges for the Bronze Eagle Palm; and

| WHEREAS, He sailed the Atlantic Ocean in the summer of 2007 |
| 2 |
| while attending Florida's National High Adventure Seabase; he |
| 3 |
| completed the Three Fires Council National Youth Leadership |
| 4 |
| Training course in 2007; and he currently serves as a Patrol |
| 5 |
| Leader and Troop Historian; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Greg joins an elite and |
| 7 |
| honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its members |
| 8 |
| an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders in |
| 9 |
| business, government, education, and other sectors of society; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout |
| 12 |
| reflects favorably upon the recipient, his family, his |
| 13 |
| Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; he will receive the |
| 14 |
| official Rank on May 4, 2008; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| that we join his family and friends in congratulating Gregory |
| 18 |
| A. Scafidi, II, upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, |
| 19 |
| and we commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence |
| 20 |
| that is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
