| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Headquartered at the Copernicus Foundation in the |
| 3 |
| Jefferson Park neighborhood in Chicago, the Legion of Young |
| 4 |
| Polish Women has been actively involved in national and world |
| 5 |
| affairs since its founding in 1939; the Legion has given |
| 6 |
| approximately $1.5 million to charities in the United States |
| 7 |
| and around the world; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, At the Legion of Young Polish Women's White and |
| 9 |
| Red Ball on February 9, 2008, seven young women will be |
| 10 |
| presented to Polish American society by their fathers; these |
| 11 |
| young women are Adrienne Bartkowiak, Alexandra Golota, Nina |
| 12 |
| Kwiatkowska, Anna Majka, Alexandra Nowicka McLees, Julia |
| 13 |
| Tucci, and Marysla Szpindor Watson; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The proceeds gained from the 69th Annual White and |
| 15 |
| Red Ball will be used to fund the Legion of Young Polish |
| 16 |
| Women's many charitable and philanthropic endeavors; |

| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the members of the Legion of Young Polish Women on |
| 21 |
| the occasion of its 69th Annual White and Red Ball, thank them |

| for the numerous charitable acts they have performed in their |
