HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Flora Pups 
4
Baseball Team from Floyd Henson Junior High School in Flora on 
5
the occasion of winning the Southern Illinois Junior High 
6
School Athletic Association's Class L Championship on October 
7
4, 2007; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, The Flora Pups' 1-0 victory over Benton marked the 
9
team's first Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic 
10
Association's Class L Championship win; in 2006, the Pups 
11
placed 3rd in the state tournament; the team ended the season 
12
with a 24-1 record overall; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Flora Pups pitcher Paul Knapp had 16 strike outs 
14
and allowed only 4 hits during this well-played game; and

    WHEREAS, The players on the Flora Pups baseball team are 
16
Dillon Orel, Paul Knapp, Trenton Freeman, Dexter Burgess, Nick 
17
Painter, Reagan Erbacher, Landon Eade, Preston Price, Cory 
18
Moore, Kyle Nicholson, Justin Beckham, Christian Taylor, Alec 
19
Schade, Clayton Walden, Blake Fitch, and Brenden Thomas; the 
20
head coach is John Winters and the assistant coach is Todd 
21
Countryman; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate the Flora Pups Baseball Team from Floyd Henson 
4
Junior High School in Flora for winning the Southern Illinois 
5
Junior High School Athletic Association's Class L Championship 
6
and wish the team members continued success and happiness in 
7
the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Flora Pups head coach John Winters as a symbol of
