HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 
3
State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Village of 
4
Manhattan's Deputy Fire Chief William Chellios on the occasion 
5
of his retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Chellios has served the Manhattan 
7
Fire Department for 46 years, beginning his career in 1961; he 
8
climbed the department's ranks over the years, serving as a 
9
firefighter, engineer, lieutenant, captain, battalion chief, 
10
and retiring as deputy chief on June 30, 2007; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Chellios was recognized as the 
12
Manhattan Fire Department's officer of the year in 1977, 1984, 
13
1985, and 1997; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, During his retirement, Deputy Chief Chellios 
15
plans on gardening and spending time with his wife of 50 years, 
16
Donna, his son, Mark, and his grandchildren, Lindsay and Kyle; 
17
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20
congratulate Deputy Chief William Chellios on the occasion of 
21
his retirement and thank him for his many years of service to

the citizens of Manhattan; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Deputy Chief William Chellios as an expression of
