| WHEREAS, Illinois College alumnus Dalitso Sulamoyo, Class |

| of 1996, was honored as an Associated Colleges of Illinois |

| (ACI) 2007 Alumni Shining Example during ACI's 55th
Annual |
| 5 |
| Meeting on April 12, 2007; and |
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, In keeping with the meeting's theme, Success |
| 7 |
| Stories: 55 Years of Educational Opportunity, this year's ACI |
| 8 |
| Alumni Shining Examples were selected because they demonstrate |
| 9 |
| that Illinois' private liberal arts colleges provide men and |
| 10 |
| women with the academic, professional, and personal skills to |
| 11 |
| write their own success stories; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Dalitso Sulamoyo immigrated to the United States |
| 13 |
| from Malawi as a teenager; today he works for the Illinois |
| 14 |
| Community Action Association, where he serves as President and |
| 15 |
| CEO; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Dalitso Sulamoyo was attending a community |
| 17 |
| college when he began looking for a college with small class |
| 18 |
| sizes, personal attention from faculty, and a strong political |
| 19 |
| science department; he found all three at Illinois College and |
| 20 |
| transferred there as a sophomore; he was active in Model United |
| 21 |
| Nations and student government and also co-founded the school's |
| 22 |
| pre-law fraternity; and
