HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor the life of John W. 
4
Stieren; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, John W. Stieren was 81 years old when he climbed 
6
aboard a Harley Davidson motorcycle and headed for Florida in 
7
October of 2005; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, John met up with fate on that trip when he was 
9
accidentally hit by a truck; it was during this time that 
10
Florida was hit with a hurricane; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, John's family took off for Florida in a friend's 
12
Lincoln Town Car to bring John back to Illinois for 
13
rehabilitation; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, John W. Stieren passed away after fighting a MRSA 
15
infection in his lungs; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, John W. Stieren loved living and it shows in the 
17
way he lived life; not many can say they got the chance to do 
18
what he did, all on the back of a motorcycle; therefore, be it

 
19
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
2
acknowledge the wonderful life of John Stieren and extend to 
3
his family our best at this time; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5
presented to the family of John W. Stieren as a symbol of our 
6
respect for this man.
