| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy | ||||||
| 3 | Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle | ||||||
| 4 | Scout; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jordan Edward Ridgley of Boy Scout Troop 7, in | ||||||
| 6 | Alton, will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor | ||||||
| 7 | on April 15, 2007; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man | ||||||
| 9 | must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a | ||||||
| 10 | willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in | ||||||
| 11 | camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Jordan was successful in the planning and building | ||||||
| 13 | of a storage shed for the Granite City APA, a "no kill" animal | ||||||
| 14 | shelter; his project included presentations to various groups, | ||||||
| 15 | raising money by selling pastry items, and seeking donations | ||||||
| 16 | from several businesses; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Jordan Ridgley has been in scouting since the | ||||||
| 18 | first grade, and earned many advancements, including the Order | ||||||
| 19 | of the Arrow; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, He appeared before the Trails West Eagle Scout | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Board of Review after the completion of his project, and the | ||||||
| 2 | Board determined that Jordan had completed all the requirements | ||||||
| 3 | to become an Eagle Scout; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Jordan joins an elite | ||||||
| 5 | and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its | ||||||
| 6 | members an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders | ||||||
| 7 | in business, government, education, and other sectors of | ||||||
| 8 | society; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout | ||||||
| 10 | reflects favorably upon the recipient, his parents, Kenneth and | ||||||
| 11 | Alesia Ridgley, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; | ||||||
| 12 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | that we join his family and friends in congratulating Jordan | ||||||
| 16 | Edward Ridgley upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, | ||||||
| 17 | and we commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence | ||||||
| 18 | that is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Eagle Scout Jordan Ridgley as an expression of our | ||||||
| 21 | respect and esteem.
