| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The 94th General Assembly enacted the River Edge |
| 3 |
| Redevelopment Zone Act, which offers certain riverfront |
| 4 |
| communities significant tax incentives for business |
| 5 |
| development in what are now dilapidated riverfront areas; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, This program has the potential to attract new |
| 7 |
| businesses, jobs, and tourists to economically depressed |
| 8 |
| riverfront communities; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 10 |
| Opportunity has yet to take action to fully implement the |
| 11 |
| provisions of this Act; therefore, be it
|
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 14 |
| urge the Governor and the Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 15 |
| Opportunity to take all appropriate action for the expedient |
| 16 |
| designation by the Department of River Edge Development Zones |
| 17 |
| under the River Edge Redevelopment Zone Act and for the |
| 18 |
| expedient and full implementation of that Act; and be it |
| 19 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be delivered to |
| 21 |
| the Governor and to the Director of Commerce and Economic |
