<reference>210 ILCS 85/4.5</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that a hospital located in a county with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants may apply to the Department of Public Health for approval to conduct its operations from more than one location within the county under a single license if the distance between each location to be combined under one license is no more than one mile. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that neither the Governor nor any agency or agency head under the jurisdiction of the Governor has any rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that a hospital located in a county with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants may apply to the Department of Public Health for approval to conduct its operations from more than one hospital (instead of more than one location) within the county under a single license if the distance between each hospital (instead of each location) to be combined under one license is no more than one mile.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 3</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that a hospital located in a county with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants may apply for approval to conduct its operations from more than one hospital if (i) the distance between each hospital is no more than one-half (instead of one) mile and (ii) both hospitals were operated by a single health system on January 1, 2008.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
