Provides that a prescription for a Schedule II controlled substance must be filled by a mail-order pharmacy within 14 (rather than 7) days after issuance. Provides that an emergency prescription for a Schedule II controlled substance that is filled by a mail-order pharmacy must be verified by a written prescription within 14 (rather than 7) days.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<reftype>Deletes reference to:</reftype><reference>720 ILCS 570/309</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Deletes the provisions of the bill relating to the filling of oral prescriptions. Provides that any written prescription for a Schedule II controlled substance (not just mail-order prescriptions) may be filled within 90 (rather than 7) days after issuance. Provides that neither the Governor nor any agency or agency head under the jurisdiction of the Governor has any rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
