<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>765 ILCS 605/30</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 30, par. 330</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Condominium Property Act. Provides as to a conversion condominium that a tenant who vacated a unit in a building within 18 months of the real estate becoming a conversion condominium and who did not receive a notice of intent to submit the real estate to the Act must be awarded damages of $10,000 plus reasonable attorney's fees and costs. Provides that a non-profit housing organization suing for an aggrieved party may also recover compensation for diversion of mission necessary for filing the action.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Condominium Property Act. Provides that if a building owner gives a tenant a notice of non-renewal of his or her lease, the tenant permanently vacates the leased premises as a direct result of the notice of non-renewal, and the owner converts the unit to condominium property by filing a declaration submitting the property to the Act without providing the required notice, then the owner is liable to the tenant for: the tenant's actual moving expenses, not to exceed $1500; 3 months' rent at the subject property; and reasonable attorney's fees and court costs. Provides that there is also available to the tenant injunctive relief to enforce the condominium conversion notice provisions. Provides that a non-profit housing organization suing for an aggrieved tenant may also recover compensation for reasonable attorney's fees and court costs necessary for a court action. Makes changes to conform portions of the Section to a reorganization of subsections.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
