Provides that an individual or group policy of accident and health insurance or managed care plan must provide coverage for intravenous feeding, prescription nutritional supplements, and physician prescribed or ordered pain medication. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement by the State.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Fiscal Note (Financial & Professional Regulation)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the Department resulting from this legislation. However, this legislation may subject other State agencies to additional fiscal responsibilities. </SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Fiscal Note, House Amendment No. 1 (Dept. of Healthcare & Family Services)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>The amendment removes any significant cost issues for the State benefit plans. The plans already cover most prescription IV feeding and supplement products, so any additional products and services covered are likely to be minimal. Removing the "any pain medication" requirement negates the anticipated increases in drug costs. </SynopsisText></synopsis>
