| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Idella Green of South |
| 4 |
| Holland on Sunday, August 6, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born January 5, 1923, in Belzoni, |
| 6 |
| Mississippi, to Connie and Alberta Harris Gamble; she married |
| 7 |
| William Green on November 8, 1942; he preceded her in death on |
| 8 |
| February 22, 1994; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Green worked at General Electric, retiring in |
| 10 |
| 1975; she was a community activist in the 34th ward and was a |
| 11 |
| community leader in the Morgan Park community for 37 years; she |
| 12 |
| spent her last ten years in the 29th district as a political |
| 13 |
| supporter; she was a member of Pathway To Victory Ministries; |
| 14 |
| and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, she was also preceded |
| 16 |
| in death by her daughter, Margarite Green; her brother, L.H. |
| 17 |
| Gamble; and her parents, Connie and Alberta Harris Gamble; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Idella Green has been deeply felt |
| 19 |
| by many, especially her daughters, Twin Green and Mary (Harold) |
| 20 |
| McDonald; her sons, William 'Bill' (Dorothy), Waddell (Linda), |
| 21 |
| Derrick, and Larry (Tina) Green; her 16 grandchildren; her 26 |
| 22 |
| great-grandchildren; and her two nieces; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 25 |
| Idella Green, and we extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 26 |
| family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 27 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
