SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Robert John Biancalana of Elmwood Park on March 9, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana was born on June 27, 1947, to Albert and Helen Biancalana; he was raised in Elmwood Park along with his brothers, Albert and James; he married Rosemarie Small in August of 1992; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana attended Washburne Trade School and used his culinary skills in his family business, Elmcrest Banquets by Biancalana, which has become a landmark in Elmwood Park, providing many generations of families, friends, and community members a place to gather; he was a hands-on manager respected and admired by his employees; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana served in the National Guard from 1966 to 1971; he lived in Elmwood Park his entire life and was committed to the community, serving in many capacities from coaching little league to eventually becoming a village trustee; and

WHEREAS, Hunting and the beautiful skies of Wyoming were Mr. Biancalana's passions; he worked hard and played hard; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Robert John "Bobby" Biancalana will be felt by all who knew him, especially his wife, Rosemarie (nee Small); his son, Robert Jr.; his daughters, Christina (Bernard) Barbaric and Andrea; his grandchildren, Elena and Daniel; his brothers, Albert (Arlene) and Jim (Judy); his in-laws Russell and RoseMarie Small; and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Robert John Biancalana, and we extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert John Biancalana as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
