| AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend Senate Resolution 692, AS AMENDED, |

| immediately below the end of the paragraph beginning "RESOLVED, |

| That the Board of Higher Education shall, for", by inserting |

| the following:

| "RESOLVED, That the Board of Higher Education, the |
| 7 |
| Department of Revenue, and the Department of Commerce and |
| 8 |
| Economic Opportunity shall thoroughly assess and report in the |
| 9 |
| Board of Higher Education's findings the economic impact that |
| 10 |
| current textbook purchasing arrangements and that a textbook |
| 11 |
| rental program and other cost-saving alternatives would have on |
| 12 |
| public universities and community colleges, State government, |
| 13 |
| local governments, students, and private entities that |
| 14 |
| currently operate bookstores either on behalf of or independent |
| 15 |
| of one or more public universities or community colleges in |
| 16 |
| this State; and be it further". |
