| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mayple Grace (Joplin) |
| 4 |
| Meacham of West Frankfort on Thursday, July 21, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on March 15, 1927, in Franklin County |
| 6 |
| to Frank Absher and Gracie (Tanner) Absher; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, She was a Christian and a member of Glad Tidings |
| 8 |
| Church in West Frankfort; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mayple Grace (Joplin) Meacham has |
| 10 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially her daughters, Karen |
| 11 |
| Cunningham, Martha Jane Walker, and Jaye "Kandie" Roberts; her |
| 12 |
| sons, John K. Joplin, Jeff Joplin, Jack Andrew Joplin, and |
| 13 |
| Lawrence Wayne Joplin; her 12 grandchildren; her 17 |
| 14 |
| great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild; she was |
| 15 |
| preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Andrew Doc |
| 16 |
| Joplin on May 24, 1957; her second husband, Kenneth Wayne |
| 17 |
| Meacham on April 4, 1994; her four sisters; her two brothers; |
| 18 |
| her granddaughter, Bonnie Jervis Halcomb; and her son-in-law, |
| 19 |
| Kenneth Cunningham; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 22 |
| Mayple Grace (Joplin) Meacham, and we extend our sincerest |
| 23 |
| condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 24 |
| her; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
| 27 |
| sympathy.
