| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Robert L. Johns of Orient |
| 4 |
| on July 19, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johns was born February 6, 1927, in West |
| 6 |
| Frankfort, to Ota and Nellie (Stevens) Johns; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a retired coal miner from Orient No. 3 in |
| 8 |
| Waltonville; he was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and |
| 9 |
| World War II; he was a lifetime member of VFW post of West |
| 10 |
| Frankfort; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Johns is felt by all who |
| 13 |
| knew and loved him, especially his wife of 58 years, Martha |
| 14 |
| (Pulley) Johns; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Wanda |
| 15 |
| Johns and Dave and Cynthia Johns; his daughter, Diane, and her |
| 16 |
| son, Gene; his six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; |
| 17 |
| and his sisters, Erlene Annis and Virginia McAlvery; therefore, |
| 18 |
| be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our most |
| 21 |
| sincere regret at the passing of Robert Johns and extend our |
| 22 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it |
| 23 |
| further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 26 |
| sympathy.
