| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Nellie Crites of Lake of |
| 4 |
| Egypt and Goreville on July 11, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Crites was born January 15, 1915, in Johnson |
| 6 |
| County, to Drew and Mary Ethel (Jones) McCormick; she married |
| 7 |
| Clarence Crites on October 19, 1935, in Williamson County, and |
| 8 |
| together they shared more than 60 years of marriage; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, her |
| 10 |
| husband, two brothers, one sister, and an infant grandson, John |
| 11 |
| Joseph Knowles; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Nellie Crites is felt by all who |
| 13 |
| knew and loved her, especially her children, Stanley and Holly |
| 14 |
| Crites, Marlene and Dale Calhoun, Violetta Knowles, and Jerry |
| 15 |
| Crites; her 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and |
| 16 |
| eight great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ella May and Norm |
| 17 |
| Mullinix; and her half brother, Hubert Earl McCormick, and half |
| 18 |
| sisters, Vera Lou Benedict and Flodine Shadowens; therefore, be |
| 19 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 22 |
| Nellie Crites and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
| 23 |
| family; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
| 26 |
| sympathy.
