    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2971 on page 1,

line 27, by changing "X" to "1"; and

on page 2, line 9, by inserting after the period the following:

"When one of the offenses for which a defendant was
convicted

was a violation of Section 32-5.2 of the Criminal
Code of 1961

and the offense was committed in attempting or
committing a 
8
forcible felony,
the court may impose consecutive sentences.";

and
 
10
on page 3, line 18, by deleting "or"; and
 
11
on page 3, by deleting lines 19 through 22.
