| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor Gary E. Parrin, Village |
| 4 |
| Manager of Elk Grove, Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Parrin will be retiring on February 28, 2007; |
| 6 |
| and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor's degree from the |
| 8 |
| University of Illinois at Champaign; he received his Master of |
| 9 |
| Arts degree in Public Administration from Ohio State |
| 10 |
| University; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, In the summer of 1973 he began his career with the |
| 12 |
| Village of Elk Grove by serving as an Administrative Intern; |
| 13 |
| after graduating from Ohio State University he returned to Elk |
| 14 |
| Grove and took a full-time position as an Administrative |
| 15 |
| Assistant; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was promoted to Assistant Village Manager in |
| 17 |
| May of 1977; on August 3, 1992 he was appointed Village |
| 18 |
| Manager, becoming the third Chief Administrative Officer in the |
| 19 |
| history of Elk Grove; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Gary Parrin has also served as the Treasurer, Vice |
| 21 |
| President, and President of the Illinois Association of |
| 22 |
| Municipal Management Assistants; he is a member of the Board of |
| 23 |
| Directors for the Northwest Central Dispatch System/9-1-1; he |
| 24 |
| is a member of the Executive Committee of the Northwest |
| 25 |
| Municipal Joint Action Water Agency; he is the Alternate |
| 26 |
| Director of the Northwest Municipal Conference; he is the |
| 27 |
| Alternate Director of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook |
| 28 |
| County; he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Elk |
| 29 |
| Grove Chamber of Commerce; and he is a member of the |
| 30 |
| Superintendent's Advisory Finance Committee; and
