| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |

| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Diane |
| 4 |
| (Bush) Roberson on Wednesday, August 9, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on June 5, 1946, in Aiken, South |
| 6 |
| Carolina, to Willie Fred and Ada Mae Bush; she grew up on both |
| 7 |
| the south and west sides of Chicago; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She graduated from Crane Technical High School; |
| 9 |
| after graduation she attended Columbia University in New York; |
| 10 |
| she also attended Triton College, Wright College, Roosevelt |
| 11 |
| University, and Concordia University; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She was united in marriage to Henry Gene Roberson |
| 13 |
| on December 31, 1968, at Come and See Baptist Church; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Roberson had several occupations in her |
| 15 |
| lifetime; she was a long distance operator for Illinois Bell |
| 16 |
| Telephone, a United Steel Worker for Federal Pacific Steel |
| 17 |
| Company for over 10 years, and a child and development social |
| 18 |
| worker for CEDA; she retired in 1994 and took up being a |
| 19 |
| full-time grandmamma, quilt-maker, and world traveler; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Diane (Bush) Roberson has been |
| 21 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her daughters, Ingrid and Kyra; |
| 22 |
| her daughter-in-law, Cynthia; her sons, Sonjee, Lesley, and |
| 23 |
| Cuffey; her surrogate sons, Jimmy Hayes and Delrick Harris; her |
| 24 |
| grandsons, Jessie Roberson, Cameron Steele, and Cole Parker |
| 25 |
| Roberson; her granddaughter, Jazmine (Ladybug) Roberson; her |
| 26 |
| sisters, Nadine Vaughn (Louis), Peggy Lee Bush, Rosemary |
| 27 |
| Winters-Howard (Dean), and Liza Winters (Ken); her brother, |
| 28 |
| Bobby Taylor (Sonya); her aunts, Francis Woodard and Mamie |
| 29 |
| Williams; her great-aunt, Ada McDaniel; and her many nieces, |
| 30 |
| nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones; she was preceded in |
