| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize a business that has |
| 4 |
| served the people of the State of Illinois and the Midwest for |
| 5 |
| many years; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Maschhoffs Inc. is headquartered in Carlyle |
| 7 |
| and offers management services for a number of Midwestern |
| 8 |
| family pork farmers; the company has over 100 years of |
| 9 |
| experience in pork production as a family-owned business; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Maschhoff family uses the knowledge gained |
| 11 |
| over a century of farming to help other family farms continue |
| 12 |
| their legacies; the company's goal is to raise pork in an |
| 13 |
| efficient, environmentally-conscious, secure, and profitable |
| 14 |
| manner; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The Maschhoffs Inc. contributes much to the |
| 16 |
| Carlyle area, both as an employer and as a resource for family |
| 17 |
| farms and other pork producers; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The business is truly a family business, with Ken |
| 19 |
| Maschhoff, a fifth-generation member of the Maschhoff farming |
| 20 |
| family, serving as Chief Executive Officer; his brother, Dave |
| 21 |
| Maschhoff is the Chief Operating Officer, and Julie Maschhoff, |
| 22 |
| Ken's wife, serves as Director of Public Relations; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, One Maschhoff family member, Wayne, is |
| 24 |
| celebrating his 75th birthday; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we commend The Maschhoffs Inc. for the exceptional job it |
| 28 |
| continues to do in the Carlyle area, serving family farms and |
| 29 |
| pork producers throughout the Midwest as well as providing |
