| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The National High School Coaches Association |
| 3 |
| (NHSCA) has selected Mike Polz of Carl Sandburg High School in |
| 4 |
| Orland Park as its National High School Wrestling Coach of the |
| 5 |
| Year for 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Coach Polz is the NHSCA's first selection for |
| 7 |
| 2006, and there were 20 winners from 15 different states in |
| 8 |
| 2005; he was honored as Coach of the Year at the Coaches and |
| 9 |
| Officials Championships Banquet in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, |
| 10 |
| on Thursday, March 23, 2006; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was a two-time state qualifier at |
| 12 |
| Riverside-Brookfield High School in the mid-1970s and is a |
| 13 |
| graduate of Eastern Illinois University; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, This year, he led the Carl Sandburg Eagles to a |
| 15 |
| 33-0 record and their second consecutive Class AA dual-team |
| 16 |
| state championship; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He has coached for 18 years, four years at |
| 18 |
| Providence Catholic High School and the last 14 years at Carl |
| 19 |
| Sandburg High School; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we congratulate Mike Polz on being named the National High |
| 23 |
| School Wrestling Coach of the Year for 2006; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Coach Polz as an expression of our esteem.
