| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4835 on page 5, line |

| 35, after the period, by inserting "Local authorities desiring |

| the establishment of an automated railroad crossing |
| 5 |
| enforcement system must initiate the process by enacting a |
| 6 |
| local ordinance requesting the creation of such a system. After |
| 7 |
| the ordinance has been enacted, and before any additional steps |
| 8 |
| toward the establishment of the system are undertaken, the |
| 9 |
| local authorities, the Commission, and the Department must |
| 10 |
| agree to a plan for obtaining, from any combination of federal, |
| 11 |
| State, and local funding sources, the moneys required for the |
| 12 |
| purchase and installation of any necessary equipment.".
