| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3003

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3003 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Public Safety Employee Benefits Act is |
| 5 |
| amended by adding Section 4 as follows:

| (820 ILCS 320/4 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 4. State security guards. |
| 8 |
| (a) A person who is employed as a security guard by the |
| 9 |
| State on a full-time basis and who suffers a catastrophic |
| 10 |
| injury or is killed in the line of duty on or after September |
| 11 |
| 1, 2004 under circumstances described in subsection (b) of |
| 12 |
| Section 10 is entitled to the benefits provided in that |
| 13 |
| Section. |
| 14 |
| (b) As used in this Section, "State" means the State of |
| 15 |
| Illinois or any of its departments,
divisions, boards, bureaus, |
| 16 |
| commissions, authorities, colleges, and
universities.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 18 |
| becoming law.".
