| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Home Repair and Remodeling Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 15 as follows:
|

| (815 ILCS 513/15)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 15. Written contract; costs enumerated. Prior to |
| 8 |
| initiating home
repair or remodeling work for over $1,000, a |
| 9 |
| person engaged in the
the business of
home repair or
remodeling |
| 10 |
| shall furnish to the customer for signature a written contract |
| 11 |
| or
work order that states the total cost, including parts and |
| 12 |
| materials listed
with reasonable particularity and any charge |
| 13 |
| for an estimate. In addition, the
contract shall state the |
| 14 |
| business name and address of the person engaged in the
business |
| 15 |
| of home repair or remodeling. If the person engaged in the |
| 16 |
| business
of home repair or remodeling uses a post office box or |
| 17 |
| mail receiving service
or agent to receive home repair or |
| 18 |
| remodeling business correspondence, the
contract also shall |
| 19 |
| state the residence address of the person engaged in the
|
| 20 |
| business of
home repair or remodeling. |
