    AN ACT concerning public safety.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 1. Short title.    This Act may be cited as the 
5
Mold Remediation Registration Act.

    Section 5. Legislative purpose. The General Assembly finds 
7
it necessary in the interest of the public safety and welfare, 
8
in order to prevent damage to the real and personal property of 
9
the residents of this State and to avert economic injury to the 
10
residents of this State, to regulate individuals and companies 
11
that hold themselves out to the public as qualified to perform 
12
mold-related activities.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 
14
1, 2006.
