<reference>745 ILCS 49/12</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Provides that a person who, in good faith and without compensation, renders emergency medical care by using an automatic external defibrillator is not civilly liable for any act or omission, except willful and wanton misconduct, in rendering that care. (At present, this exemption only applies if the person rendering the care uses training conducted in accord with the standards of the American Heart Association.) Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
