<reference>105 ILCS 5/1A-2.1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 122, par. 1A-2.1</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the State Board of Education.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<reftype>Deletes reference to:</reftype><reference>105 ILCS 5/1A-2.1</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reftype>Adds reference to:</reftype><reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Creates the College and Career Success for All Students Act. Requires a teacher of an Advanced Placement course to obtain appropriate training, subject to appropriation. Requires the State Board of Education to establish training guidelines that require teachers of Advanced Placement courses to obtain recognized Advanced Placement training endorsed by the College Board, subject to appropriation. Provides that Advanced Placement and pre-Advanced Placement training to teachers in Illinois high schools must meet certain requirements. Requires the State Board to encourage school districts to offer rigorous courses in grades 6 through 11 that prepare students for the demands of Advanced Placement course work. Requires the State Board of Education to encourage school districts to make it a goal that all 10th graders take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholars Qualifying Test so that test results will provide each high school with a database of student assessment data to identify students who are prepared or who need additional work to be prepared to enroll and be successful in Advanced Placement courses. Provides for other duties of the State Board.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
