<reference>720 ILCS 5/16-22 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Creates the offense of tampering with a security, fire, or life safety system. Provides that a person commits the offense when he or she knowingly endangers public safety by tampering with, damaging, sabotaging, destroying, or causing to permanently or temporarily malfunction any physical or electronic security, fire, or life safety system or any component part of any of those systems. Provides that a violation is a Class 4 felony.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
