Provides that a minor who is a chronic truant and who is adjudged to be a truant minor in need of supervision may be placed in detention for a period not to exceed 30 days, either as the exclusive order of disposition or, where appropriate, in conjunction with any other order of disposition issued, provided that any such detention shall be in a juvenile detention home and the minor so detained shall be 10 years of age or older.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Fiscal Note (Admin Office of the Illinois Courts)</synopsistitle>

<SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that the comprehensive community based youth service organization shall certify that the minor has been referred by the regional superintendent or Office of Chronic Truant Adjudication to that agency for truancy intervention services. Provides that the comprehensive community based youth service agency shall submit reports to the regional superintendent or the Office of Chronic Truant Adjudication within 30, 120, and 180 days of the minor's referral, or at any other time requested by a regional superintendent of the Office of Chronic Truant Adjudication, which reports each shall certify the date of the minor's referral and the extent of the minor's progress and participation in truancy intervention services provided by the comprehensive community based youth service agency. Provides that if after referral by the regional superintendent or the Office of Chronic Truant Adjudication, the minor declines or refuses to fully participate in truancy intervention services provided by the comprehensive community based youth service agency, then the agency shall immediately certify such facts to the regional superintendent or the Office of Chronic Truant Adjudication.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
