| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize milestone events in |
| 4 |
| the lives of citizens of the State; and |
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Donald and Mary |
| 6 |
| "Mae" Bartoli celebrated the 60th anniversary of their marriage |
| 7 |
| on February 12, 2004; and |
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Don and Mae met while playing baseball at the 69th |
| 9 |
| Street May Club; Don played the position of short center for |
| 10 |
| the May Club, and Mae played both short center and catcher for |
| 11 |
| the Mayettes Club softball team, which consisted solely of |
| 12 |
| women; and |
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Don valiantly served his country in the U.S. Air |
| 14 |
| Force for over 3 years; he and Mae were married while he was in |
| 15 |
| the service at St. Brendan Church in Chicago on February 12, |
| 16 |
| 1944; following his time in the military, he worked at United |
| 17 |
| States Steel Corporation, South Works, as an electrician for 45 |
| 18 |
| years; and |
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Don and Mae gave their children a loving and |
| 20 |
| nurturing environment; they taught their children about love of |
| 21 |
| family and faith; they are enjoying their retirement and are |
| 22 |
| always ready and available to give support, advice, and wisdom |
| 23 |
| to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and |
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Don and Mae are the proud parents of Mary (Sam |
| 25 |
| Angona), Joseph (Mary), Thomas (Sheri), William, and Robert |
| 26 |
| (Cindy); their daughter, Donna (Jon Freeman), is deceased; they |
| 27 |
| are grandparents to Donald Angona (Virginia), Karen Angona, |
| 28 |
| Jonathan Freeman, Jason Freeman, Janet Arwood (Jim), Donald |
| 29 |
| Bartoli, Sara Bartoli, Daniel Bartoli, Stefanie Bartoli, Julie |
| 30 |
| Bartoli, Kellie Bartoli, and Valerie Bartoli; one grandchild, |
