| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish |
| 3 |
| to recognize Robert (Bob) McDonald, International Chairman of |
| 4 |
| the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), for his |
| 5 |
| presentation of "Embrace the Challenge", which is focused on |
| 6 |
| risk assessment, communication, staff competency, and ethical |
| 7 |
| conduct; and "International Perspective on Corporate |
| 8 |
| Governance" at the April 21, 2004 Joint IIA Chapters Meeting in |
| 9 |
| Decatur; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, This State recognizes the importance of a strong |
| 11 |
| internal audit function through the Fiscal Control and Internal |
| 12 |
| Auditing Act and Executive Order Number 10 (2003); and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Institute of Internal Auditors was |
| 14 |
| established in 1941 and serves approximately 90,000 members in |
| 15 |
| internal auditing, governance and internal control, IT audit, |
| 16 |
| education, and security worldwide; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The IIA also provides internal audit |
| 18 |
| practitioners, executive management, boards of directors, and |
| 19 |
| audit committees with standards, guidance, and information on |
| 20 |
| the best practices in internal auditing; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, The Springfield Chapter of the Institute of |
| 22 |
| Internal Auditors was chartered on March 9, 1978 and serves |
| 23 |
| primarily as a State governmental internal audit chapter; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Robert (Bob) McDonald, CIA, CGAP, FIIA, ASA, JP, |
| 25 |
| is serving as the International Chairman of the Board of the |
| 26 |
| IIA; he is the Director of Internal Audit for the Department of |
| 27 |
| Natural Resources and Mines-Australia; and he has been an |
| 28 |
| active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors for more |
| 29 |
| than fifteen years; and
