| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 4 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 5 |
| Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
| 6 |
| Disabilities Administrative
Act is amended by changing Section |
| 7 |
| 11.1 as follows:
|
| 8 |

| Sec. 11.1. Special education services. To provide for all |
| 10 |
| recipients
living in State mental
health facilities between the |
| 11 |
| ages of 3 and 21 years special
education services, as defined |
| 12 |
| by the Department, to the
extent that the
such services are |
| 13 |
| practical for each child's needs.
Upon
discharge of the child, |
| 14 |
| a report of the discharge, accompanied by a report
on the |
| 15 |
| special education services received by that child while in the
|
| 16 |
| facility shall be forwarded to the State Board of
Education and |
| 17 |
| to the resident school district.
