| AN ACT in relation to civil procedure.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 5-101
as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 5-101. Security for costs.
In all actions in any court |
| 8 |
| on official bonds for the use of any
person, actions on the |
| 9 |
| bonds of executors, administrators or guardians,
qui tam |
| 10 |
| actions, actions on a penal statute, and in all civil actions,
|
| 11 |
| in which
where the plaintiff, or person for whose use an action |
| 12 |
| is to
be
commenced, is not a resident of this State, the |
| 13 |
| plaintiff, or
person for whose use the action is to be |
| 14 |
| commenced, shall, before he
or she institutes the
such action, |
| 15 |
| file, or cause to be filed, with the
clerk of
the
court in |
| 16 |
| which the action is to be commenced, security for costs,
|
| 17 |
| substantially in the following form:
|

| A B v. C D - (Title of court.)
|

| I, (E.F.) enter myself security for all costs which may |
| 20 |
| accrue in
the above entitled action.
