Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Requires the court to determine whether counseling is appropriate for a child who is involved in a custody proceeding. Authorizes the court to order counseling and apportion the cost between the parties.

| AN ACT concerning families.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of |
| 5 |
| Marriage Act is amended by adding Section 604.3 as follows:
|

| (750 ILCS 5/604.3 new) |

| Sec. 604.3. Counseling. The court shall determine whether |
| 8 |
| counseling is appropriate for a child who is involved in a |
| 9 |
| custody proceeding. If the court determines that counseling is |
| 10 |
| appropriate, the court may order counseling and may apportion |
| 11 |
| the costs between the parties.
