| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Jonathan Amir Jackson Sr., who passed |
| 4 | | away on January 25, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson was born in Waukegan to Michael |
| 6 | | R. Sr. and Betty M. Jackson on April 19, 1988; he was a member |
| 7 | | of Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan, where he attended youth |
| 8 | | Sunday school, was on the youth usher Board, served as a junior |
| 9 | | deacon, and participated in AWANA; he graduated from Waukegan |
| 10 | | High School, where he played football and was an active member |
| 11 | | of the Top Teens of America; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson was a member of Boy Scouts of |
| 13 | | America Troop #601 at Shiloh Baptist Church; one of his |
| 14 | | proudest moments was accomplishing the rank of Eagle Scout; |
| 15 | | his project was collecting new stuffed animals for pediatric |
| 16 | | cancer patients at Vista; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson's goal was to become a renowned |
| 18 | | chef; he loved to cook and try new recipes; most recently, he |
| 19 | | worked with the Ruprecht Company in Mundelein; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson had many friends and shared a |
| 21 | | special relationship with his brother, Michael; he was known |

| 1 | | as a jokester and was the life of the party; his smile would |
| 2 | | light up the room; he was an avid Batman fan; and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson was preceded in death by his |
| 4 | | mother, Betty M. Jackson; his brother, Michael R. Jackson Jr.; |
| 5 | | his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Jerlean Mark; his |
| 6 | | paternal grandmother, Betty J. Jackson; and his paternal |
| 7 | | grandfather, William L. Miller; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Jackson is survived by his children, |
| 9 | | Antia M. Cornish, Jonathan Amir Jackson Jr., Kiana Amerie |
| 10 | | Marie Jackson, and Kyla Rose Lynne Jackson; his parents, |
| 11 | | Michael and Cynthia Jackson; his brother, Michael R. Jackson |
| 12 | | III; his sister, Trenisa S. Jackson; his sister-in-law, Tristy |
| 13 | | Jackson; his nieces, Jessiya Jackson and Bethanie Jackson; and |
| 14 | | numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it |
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Jonathan Amir Jackson Sr. and extend our sincere condolences |
| 18 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be |
| 19 | | it further |
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of Jonathan Jackson as an expression |
| 22 | | of our deepest sympathy. |
