| 2 | WHEREAS, World Nutella Day, celebrated annually on | ||||||
| 3 | February 5, brings people together from across the globe to | ||||||
| 4 | honor their love of Nutella, the iconic hazelnut spread | ||||||
| 5 | enjoyed by millions; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Ferrero, the company behind Nutella, is a global | ||||||
| 7 | confectionery leader with deep roots in Illinois, including a | ||||||
| 8 | $75 million investment in the City of Bloomington for the | ||||||
| 9 | company's first chocolate production factory in North America, | ||||||
| 10 | further solidifying the company's commitment to Illinois' | ||||||
| 11 | economic development; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ferrero has demonstrated a strong commitment to | ||||||
| 13 | Illinois with its continued investment in the State, employing | ||||||
| 14 | over 1,500 individuals at facilities that drive local | ||||||
| 15 | economies and provide quality jobs; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, In 2023, Ferrero opened an Innovation Center and | ||||||
| 17 | R&D Lab in Chicago's historic Marshall Field and Company | ||||||
| 18 | Building, further showcasing the company's dedication to | ||||||
| 19 | innovation and Illinois' role as a hub for cutting-edge | ||||||
| 20 | advancements in the confectionery industry; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Ferrero's additional Illinois facilities include | ||||||

| 1 | a manufacturing plant in Franklin Park, where the company | ||||||
| 2 | produces Butterfinger and Baby Ruth products, and a Chicago | ||||||
| 3 | plant on 110th Street dedicated to manufacturing Keebler | ||||||
| 4 | products; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Nutella has become a beloved treat for Illinois | ||||||
| 6 | residents of all ages, symbolizing joy, creativity, and shared | ||||||
| 7 | moments; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Ferrero continues to build on its legacy in | ||||||
| 9 | Illinois through innovation, sustainability, and community | ||||||
| 10 | engagement, enhancing Illinois' reputation as a leader in | ||||||
| 11 | advanced manufacturing and economic development; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, World Nutella Day provides an opportunity to | ||||||
| 13 | celebrate Ferrero's contributions to the State of Illinois and | ||||||
| 14 | recognize the delight Nutella brings to households across the | ||||||
| 15 | State; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare February 5, | ||||||
| 18 | 2025 as Nutella Day in the State of Illinois to honor Ferrero's | ||||||
| 19 | significant investments in our State, the many employees who | ||||||
| 20 | contribute to its success, and the joy that Nutella spreads | ||||||
| 21 | throughout our communities; and be it further | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 2 | presented to Ferrero as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
